 Stephanie Macharia is a dedicated and impact-driven mental health executive, serving as the Director of  Business Development at Golden Thread Human Services. With 10+ years supporting like minded  individuals battling with mental and developmental disabilities and 8 years of expertise in IT, Stephanie  offers a unique perspective to advancing mental health services through innovation, partnerships and  operational excellence. 

Stephanie’s current role drives initiatives that promote growth, sustainability, and community impact for  Golden Thread. She excels in identifying new opportunities, building strong stakeholder relationships,  and leveraging technology to broaden access to mental health services for diverse communities. By  combining her background in IT with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and  families, Stephanie ensures that business development strategies are grounded in empathy, equity, and  real-world outcomes. 

Prior to this leadership role, Stephanie spent a decade working directly with individuals with mental and  developmental disabilities, advocating for their inclusion, dignity, and self-determination. This  experience continues to shape her commitment to creating programs and partnerships that empower  individuals and strengthen communities. As a champion for mental health equity, Stephanie is  passionate about destigmatizing mental illness, integrating services, and promoting person-centered  care. She is known for building collaborative networks, driving process improvements, and mentoring  teams to embrace innovation in service of those who need it most. 

Stephanie remains actively engaged in professional communities and is dedicated to advancing best  practices that ensure mental health and developmental disability services are accessible, compassionate,  and transformative for all.
